System Crash (twice now) can I have some assistance debugging?

Hi All,

recently returning to Arch and have set it up with KDE 5 and have had two system crashes now in the passed 4 days. The most recent one (just now) I pulled some log info for. But I don't understand much of it. It says bug so it might be that I can do nothing to fix this and need to report it. Can someone take a look and let me know what I should do, report it or attempt to fix it. I can provide more info if requested.

Full Error:

Nvidia seems to be the problem. Can you describe more when and how the crashes happen,  i.e. were you using any intensive graphics program when they happened?
What is your GPU, CPU, kernel and driver have you got installed? More info will help.

OOM condition? Do you have swap space configured?

Re: System Crash (twice now) can I have some assistance debugging?

Hi, I did see the NVidia mentions and I did have trouble getting my drivers working originally but that seems OK now, games run etc.

At the time the of the crash I had firefox open with about 20 tabs (normal for me) and Kodi was playing an mp4 from my NAS with steam running the in the background. I wasn't even using the PC really, it was idle while I was making a note on paper when it stuttered and froze.

I do not have SWAP space, I have not used SWAP on this machine for 4 years (on various linux flavours, mint, ubuntu, manjaro to name a few) as I have 32gb of RAM and it seemed redundant. From the link you provided it could well be a bug. Having a full read through of that link now.

Here is lsmod output for extra info:

Re: System Crash (twice now) can I have some assistance debugging?

nb. that a memory leak in eg. some video player could eat away 32GB in seconds to minutes w/ ease.
You also have vbox* loaded - did you do fancy stuff w/ the RAM (assigning static amounts to VMs and/or enable huge pages etc.)?

Re: System Crash (twice now) can I have some assistance debugging?

I may have had a WIndows 10 VM running too, forgot about that. Kodi should by default have a limit on it's video cache which I have not overridden. I do also have this line in my fstab:

tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults,noatime,mode=1777 0 0
