I am trying to set up password-less login to a new server.
I generated the ssh keys and copied my public key with ssh-copy-id.
However, I am still prompted for a password when I access the remote.
I have read that permissive permissions on .ssh and its contents can cause this so I set permissions to 700 for .ssh and 600 for both id_rsa and id_rsa.pub.
That hasn't seemed to help at all.
Any suggestions? The remote is running ubuntu 18.04. I have only simple user access to it.

Have you tried
ssh -i <key-file>
?
Offline
would the keyfile be the id_rsa?
Here is the output when I attempt connecting verbosely:

Any suggestions? The remote is running ubuntu 18.04. I have only simple user access to it.
Back to basics: is the remote username the same as local? Is this being specified on connect?
I generated the ssh keys and copied my public key with ssh-copy-id.
Do you recall what you used as the command for this (redacted)?
