Internet Is Working Slow And Weird

I have a desktop with Intel i3 7100 processor and 16 GB RAM. Further information of my machine available on hardware probe

I already have windows 7 operating system running on a separate HDD. The internet is working good without any issues.

I am using wired LAN connection 100 Mbps internet speed.

On another HDD I installed Debian Linux with KDE and tried to browse the internet, but just for doing a Google search it is taking time to show the results.

I checked with Debian forums and there is no issues with drivers and kernel versions.

I liked the rolling release model of Arch Linux, so I installed Arch Linux and then KDE to check if the issue occurs.

Now I have a fresh installation of operating systems arch Linux on HDD-0 and windows on HDD-1 respectively. I have configured the system for dual boot.

Well even on arch Linux I get the same internet problem.

I found something weird behavior with KDE network manager menu in system tray. While the Google search was taking time to load, whenever I clicked the network icon and hovered the mouse on the connection menu it immediately showed data.

When I open discover application and tried installing or updating packages it takes long time to load, but when I clicked network icon on tray and hovered my mouse over the connection, package installation or updates immediately works.

So basically the internet works only when I click the network icon on system tray and hover the mouse over network connection.

When I installed arch Linux it was fetching packages for KDE and other packages from internet, so internet was working till that point.

Re: Internet Is Working Slow And Weird

1. please post the outputs of

find /etc/systemd -type l -exec test -f {} \; -print | awk -F'/' '{ printf ("%-40s | %s\n", $(NF-0), $(NF-1)) }' | sort -f
lspci -k

2. is the behavior different between "ping google.com" and "ping 8.8.8.8"?
3. see the 3rd link in my signature

Today the software center showed system updates around 300 plus MB. After updating i am not experiencing the problem anymore.
