Arch not booting [Duplicate]

I installed Arch a month ago and it's been working up until now.

It boots into grub, then after selecting Arch it goes through

Starting version 247.1-4-arch
/dev/sda2: recovering journal
/dev/sda2: clean, [...] files, [...] blocks

And then the screen just goes blank.
If I try to boot into the USB, it briefly flashes:

[   3.792276] pci 0000:00:00.2: AMD-Vi: unable to read/write to IOMMU perf counter.
:: running early hook [udev]
Starting version 246.6-1-arch
:: running early hook [archiso_pxe_nbd]
:: running hook [udev]
:: Triggering uevents...

Then goes blank.

So far, I've tried:
Adding iommu=soft to the end of the 'linux' command in GRUB (in case the IOMMU error was the cause). This didn't change anything.

Thanks for any help

Edit: typo

Re: Arch not booting [Duplicate]

Two questions. First, when you say "boot into the USB", what does that mean?  Are you trying to boot the install media?
Second, if you try to boot from GRUB, after the screen goes blank, can you change to a different console using Ctrl-Alt-F3? (Or F2, F4, F5)

Re: Arch not booting [Duplicate]

1. Yes,  'Arch Linux install medium (x86_64, UEFI)'
2. No, those key combinations don't do anything that I can see

Thanks

Re: Arch not booting [Duplicate]

Ok, I think this is a duplicate of https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=228814

Adding nomodeset to the kernel parameters fixes the blank screen. I can't run X11 but I'll read through the other thread and see if I can fix it.
