broadcom issues

Having issues with lag on my desktop with a broadcom BCM4360 card.  My pings to my router jump randomly from 1ms to 200-300ms and I am experiencing slowdowns during those times.

My laptop has an atheros card and never has this issue sitting on the same desk.  Router is in the same room, both devices running arch.

I suspect that part of the issue is the broadcom card is showing up as multiple devices.  I see my access points twice one for each device (wlp7s0, wlp0s20u3).  The shorter one can't actually connect and I haven't been able to figure out why it is showing up.  It didn't use to have this problem, but started a while ago and I ignored it.

I am using broadcom-wl-dkms 6.30.223.271-26 along with networkmanager-qt in kde.  Tried setting the BSSID and restricting the SSID to the wlp0s20u3 with no improvement.  Any ideas on this?

Re: broadcom issues

OK, the other device is my xbox controller.  Crazy it lets me connect through that.  Even with it unplugged still seeing random slow pings though.

Re: broadcom issues

It might be worth testing out the linux-lts kernel to see if your performance is the same there.
