Try running /usr/bin/loffice from a X-terminal .
If that also fails without output, check journactl -b output for clues.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Nothing in that jorunal excerpt relates to libreoffice - did you try to run loffice from konsole as the abandoned puppy has suggested?

That's not an answer to the question, but sounds OpenGL related - try to disabele the HW acceleration of LibreOffice.

jemadux,
Please reread the Code of Conduct (specifically, the section regarding image sizes).

i don't know if this is related, but latest update of libreoffice-fresh(7.0.4-3) seems broken The error is
/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/libskialo.so: undefined symbol: FT_Palette_Select
In this post
1. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=259420
it's related with double freetype installation. But i found another solution in
2. https://askubuntu.com/questions/1237381 … untu-20-04
maybe you can try one of them. In my case, I use no 2 because i don't have double freetype installation, and now libreoffice is working again.

@Uzuki007, he's getting a black window (though the screenshot doesn't seem to refelct that?), not a startup error libreoffice
For your case
pacman -Qs '(freetype|libreoffice)'
If you don't use an AUR FT package, chances are that you conducted a partial update.

@seth, pacman -Syu went normal, no error. After googling, i found that it has been reported here. In the mean time, i'll just use this.
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libfreetype.so.6 /usr/bin/soffice
Offline
@Uzuki007 did you notice the bug was closed as "Not a bug Additional comments about closing: /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/libfreetype .so.6 is not in the repos "?
Offline
@Uzuki007
pacman -Qs libreoffice
And that just stresses that your problem differs from the OP.
