Good morning,
Is anyone aware of any recent changes relating to NFS that specifically affect Kodi please?
Updated my Arch box where I host all my media a couple of days ago and immediately all my Kodi devices could see and access the hosted and exported media but it is unplayable. This has affected my LibreELEC Pi4s and my Arch Kodi desktop equally. Playing a file through Kodi takes an incredibly long time compared to previously and the file can no longer be navigated, any skipping causes it to hang or crash. While playing, the picture also breaks up constantly and freezes with audio seeming to jump in from other parts of the file randomly, again often crashing.
I can play the content absolutely fine via MPV or VLC using the NFS exports mounted locally on my Arch desktop, no issues whatsoever. So this seems to be something specific to Kodi. Checking my Pacman logs I cannot see any NFS related packages updating there. There have been kernel updates though, so hoping someone may already know whether there are any known issues before I go diving deeper into it or trying kernel rollbacks.
Thank you,

Thank you for this! I have been scouring the forums and looking for a bug report but obviously blind to that one. I confirmed it was definitely Kodi's handling as if I add the locally mounted NFS share on my Arch desktop then Kodi can play just fine. If I use Kodi to access the NFS share from my server directly, obviously using libnfs, then it is horribly broken. I appreciate you providing this for me.
