Mouse Flicker Problem

Good Day,

I have looked around a lot and haven't found a fix for my particular situation. I am using a nouveau driver (my gpu is an NVIDIA GTX770).
In my xorg.conf.d/ folder I have a 20-modesetting.conf file. In it, I specified

Section "Device"
        Identifier "Default Device"
        Driver "modesetting"
        Option "SWcursor" "True"
EndSection

This setting here actually affects my mouse. If I have an HWcursor set to True, I just get a mouse that is a box of artifacts (with no pointer). With SWCursor set to "True", I get a normal mouse pointer, but it flickers when an animation or load occurs (example would be typing on a google website, or loading of a page in a browser, or starting Crusader Kings II game and my mouse just goes berserk on the flickering).  What could cause the issue? I really would like to use the nouveau driver and not change it to nvidia because for me, the nouveau is much more stable and performs better. No other issues, just the mouse.

Thank you.

Re: Mouse Flicker Problem

HW cursor is a known problem and the sw cursor sucks.
