[SOLVED] Only single core/thread working

I've noticed that my box is working with only one thread. I have Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1231 v3 @ 3.40GHz which have 4 core 8. I have no idea for how long is that way. I've tried reseting bios/checking seeting and booting other distro. With other distro i have 8 threads working without any problems.

I've eliminated all posibilities from wrong settings in bios or hardware malfunction (bios reset, minimal install on another hard drive). I've narrowed problem to "something wrong in my OS".

i have only "quiet rw" in boot option. Couple of days ago it was working.

If you can rule out a hardware issue, this might well be a Kernel bug.

EFI 2.31 is from 2011 , and early efi implementations often work much better if they're booted in CSM / bios mode .

What is the output of (run as root)

What is brand/model of your motherboard ?

Which bootloader are you using ?
please post lsblk -f output .

If you boot with archlinux install iso, does that also see / use only 1 core ?

motherboard is supermicro x10sll+-F. UEFI implementation is very buggy - with system installed in uefi mode i can't enter bios without braking loader or removing harddrive with system from server in first place. Learned that the hard way - after 2 years.

I'm using systemd-bootd boot loader.

When I'm booting archinstall iso everything works fine. I've also tried installing on another drive and still worked fine - same kernel with zfs package from archzfs with bootd as boot loader.

I've tried xpenology topic and similiar others with no effect.

That suggest it's not efi / bios related as systemd-bootd only boots efi mode.
Could you post dmesg and/or journal from boot with installation iso ?

Something goes wrong very early in boot process when booting the installed version .

If I remember correctly the install iso has an option to chroot an existing installation , try that .

Yes. Install iso have arch-chroot and chroot tools to do that.

Anyway. I've tried to dmidecode and got:

I will try bios downgrade and let you know.

BIOS downgrade didn't help but when I've set boot path  to /EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.EFI it started booting properly and using all 8 threads.

Main symptons:
* kernel: DMI not present or invalid.
* only one thread working
* network cards suddenly changing names and network ids: eno0 -> enp3s0
