Brasero isn't working too - some problem with libraries.
I've got still problems with dbus:
I have it in /etc/rc.conf as daemon in /usr/bin/startxgl-custom I 've got line with xgl and then dbus-launch --exit-with-session gnome-session. Everything starts, but as I said some progs have segfaults (for example: gcompizthemer, or transmission properites), when I do /etc/rc.d/dbus restart (after gnome is started) everything works fine - gcompizthemer is launching, and transmission works well.
What can I do and why is it working in that way ?

all need to be recompiled against dbus... but we do not support aur packages.
we just can't

so recompilation will help ?

yes probably.
Gnome-screensaver is uploaded.... seems i forgot it.

Three problems...
1. Starting a dbus session on login via .bashrc doesn't work, although the dbus-launch manpage says it should. The dbus session will be started, but Gnome applications can't connect to it; dbus *must* be started in .xinitrc. This may sound like a minor issue, but it can be a pain, for instance when using gnome-screensaver with Openbox.
2. Gnome-screensaver is outdated and needs to be rebuilt, it will not work with the new versin of dbus.
3. Totem is missing its icon. The menu entry has no icon and there's a blank space where the icon ought to be in a Totem window frame.
1. This is because dbus is used to launch things like gnome-settings-daemon. When dbus is launched outside of X, it doesn't know what $DISPLAY is, so it will fail to start X programs. We'll provide a startgnome script that does the right things with dbus and such.
2. should be fixed by now
3. I don't have problems with that over here. Are you using some weird icon theme? Non-standard icon themes don't have full coverage of icons yet. Gorilla for example looks like shit when mixed with the new tango-styled iconset. I do have an icon in the menu for totem, and I do have an icon for it in the window list.

I rebuilded cgwd-cvs and transmission-svn from aur, but still the same problems here.

Also, the gnome-settings-daemon crash bug from early 2.14 versions is back, see here:
http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/4567
And here:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=344069
The problem package is control-center. Here is the patch for fixing it; not sure if the patch needs modification.

Same here for Totem:
Using gnome-icon-theme.

you will need to rebuild compiz and such, but please open a new thread for this, it isn't an official package.

Totem-plugin is also outdated and needs a recompile.

1. Makes sense... Using dbus-launch on login worked without any hitches with the last version of dbus and gnome though, gnome apps were able to see the bus and use it with no trouble. Not a big deal, at any rate.
Edit: It still works, there was some kind of weird syntax error in .bashrc. Too much whitespace or something, I don't know...
Edit yet again: Works for OBGnome, not with gnome-session. Something about the way gnome-session starts gnome-settings-daemon, probably. From now on I'll be keeping the dbus-launch stuff in .xinitrc, don't want to be caught by surprise by stuff like this.
2. Yep, it is.
3. Using Tango, but there was no icon with the default theme either. (Are you using totem or totem-xine?)
And while we're at it here's a new one... dbus-launch --exit-with-session isn't working right.
Edit again: Yes it is, mea culpa. No idea what was going on there, I guess my typing is awfully clumsy today. :?

The Totem problem, at least for totem-xine, is caused by a problem in the .install file.

Ok, there's also problem here with going to properites in gnome-terminal.
When I right click on it's window an chose properites it's shutting down.
After restarting dbus I can do this.
Is there something bad with my dbus or configuration ?

Mh, gnome-terminal seems doing strange things here.
When i open a second tab and switch betwenn first and second the terminal window gets resized in every direction, sometimes only horicontal sometimes only vertical. Pretty litlle but annoying bug.

gnome-network-manager has problems with dbus, but it works fine after a recompile.

had the same issue with k3b being linked to old dbus, recompile seems to fix.

I have the same problem. Except that it get resized to pretty big sizes, like 3x my monitor... annoying.

- libgnomeui filechooser is fixed to not hangup rhythmbox and also allows browsing the network safely now.
For the totem thing: a fixed package has been uploaded, icon should appear again then
For the evolution launcher: this is something braindead in the evolution releases: the .desktop file gets renamed every major version. The launcher on your panel links to evolution-2.6.desktop, which no longer exists when it is renamed to evolution-2.8.desktop.
Offline
Yeah, including the version number in the .desktop file does kind of qualify as braindead doesn't it. :?
(BTW, totem-gstreamer and totem-plugin still need fixing.)
Offline
totem itself works fine, the plugin needs updates though, it's still the 1.4 version.

My issues - on a fresh install of Archlinux :
1/ Clicking on the floppy icon takes a long time to mount the floppy. And when it's mounted Nautilus does not show its content but rather the root directpry (/). Also there's a name associated with the floppy which is "usbstick". Strange.
2/ Totem gstreamer is unable to read DVDs (at least non-encrypted) : apparently no adequate gstreamer plugin, even though I have all gstreamer0.10-plugins installed. Totem xine is ok. [EDIT: This is not a 2.16 issue - see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=344415 . I guess the solution is totem-xine]
3/ Gnomebaker would not start. An issue with d-bus libraries not there?
I don't know if those issues are only 2.16-related. I have never used gnome before in Arch.
Regards.
