Re: Xdmx fails for a weird reason

Whether you're using the vesa driver, but you're not

Please post the complete output of

sudo ls -R /sys/kernel/debug/dri

and see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA … de_setting (though I assume this would be enabled by default anyway)

Re: Xdmx fails for a weird reason

Really sorry to get back to you this late.

Output of #29

/sys/kernel/debug/dri:
0 128

/sys/kernel/debug/dri/0:
clients gem_names name

/sys/kernel/debug/dri/128:
clients gem_names name

Any way I can check whether DRM kernel mode is enabled by default?

Re: Xdmx fails for a weird reason

I have enforced it by adding the kernel parameter, but that didn't change anything.

Re: Xdmx fails for a weird reason

On which system do you inspect /sys/kernel/debug/dri ?
The one where you're running KDE or the one that you intend to abuse as monitor?

(I cannnot think of a reason why it would not be present is you're running a graphical session on that system)

Re: Xdmx fails for a weird reason

I am checking the host system that uses KDE. Perhaps, I'm doing something wrong.

Re: Xdmx fails for a weird reason

I just checked recursively the content of /sys/kernel/debug/dri and the outputs do appear now but they are named differently than in xrandr (hence why it said it was not there when I was using the xrandr output name). Is that normal?

Re: Xdmx fails for a weird reason

and the outputs do appear now

So it's different from the #30 output?

but they are named differently than in xrandr … Is that normal?

Note that the name is different from that used by xrandr.

Re: Xdmx fails for a weird reason

Yes, I did force enabled the DVI output, and catted that file to check it is "on." However, KDE still didn't extent over, and there's a huge black gap.
