EDIT: for anyone finding this, the problem seems to be with kernel 5.12.13, downgrading to 5.12.12 has fixed it for now.
After rebooting my PC recently, I was using it as normal and suddenly realised the fans were going crazy. I checked CPU usage which was fine and then checked radeontop. radeontop shows my Graphics pipe at 100% continously. It also shows Shader Clock at 95%, but VRAM use is pretty low still.

0.20G / 0.88G Memory Clock 23.24% │
2.00G / 2.10G Shader Clock 95.15% At first I was worried that I might have been compromised and someone was mining crypto on my PC, or something. It seems to be tied to GDM though. If I disable GDM and reboot, the Graphics pipe stays at 0%.
I also tested running GDM as X11 only instead of Wayland (which I normally use), but it didn't make any difference.
I'm struggling to find any useful information about this problem online, most posts are about high CPU use and not GPU. Also the last time I had a GDM update was back in April.
Does anyone have any ideas?
