hi,
i installed arch on my laptop months ago and i noticed my (integrated) gpu is always on max load, causing my fan to always spin and my battery is empty in one and a half hour.
the load is ~0% after boot before starting the x server. when i start the x server, the load goes to 100% and stays there all time, even if i close x.
please help. thank you
hardware info:
my laptop: VivoBook_ASUSLaptop X509DA_D509DA
kernel: Linux 5.12.13-arch1-2
driver: amdgpu

I'm not sure whether amsgpu is the same as amdgpu, and sure enough you could not have found the misspelled title via the forum search anyways, but there seems to be a related thread on this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=267503

My fan is still always on, 2100 rpm when my CPU is <60°C. How can I change fancurves? (I know fancontrol exists, but I don't know how to use it and fancontrol-gui from the aur stated i do not have a pwm fan)

That would suggest, that your system fan does not support PWM and therefore does not support user-controlled duty cycles i.e. RPM settings.

But on windows it is not constantly on. You can't say windows is more efficient than linux

I never said that. If you are sure that this is a false reading from the program, then there appears to be a driver issue regarding your system fan.
