@Matt3o did you uninstall just pulseaudio, or everything related to pulseaudio (libpulse, pulseaudio-bluetooth, etc)?

everything related to pulseaudio, I don't know what actually worked, I'm on i3 so it's rather easy for me. I believe pulseaudio is a dependency of KDE for example, in which case I don't know how one could remove it

@Matt3o it looks like i could uninstall pulseaudio without much ado, but a lot of packages require libpulse, including firefox.

well. interesting development. just updated firefox-developer-edition to 93.0b8-1 and video is now working. i noticed that FF92 was also updated today - tested it in my virtual environment and it also worked. checked the 92.0.1 changelog and it reported fixing an "audio" bug. checked the bug report and it was exactly this bug, reported 11 days ago and pushed to the highest severity level. apparently it wasn;t getting caught in the automated testing, and only some users were experiencing the problem. you can check the patch if you're interested.
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1730499
so, in short, FF92 is now working.

I just tried again
sudo pacman -Rns pavucontrol-qt pulseaudio-alsa pulseaudio-equalizer-ladspa pulseaudio
checking dependencies...
:: firefox optionally requires pulseaudio: Audio support
Packages (6) alsa-plugins-1:1.2.5-2 swh-plugins-0.4.17-4 pavucontrol-qt-0.17.0-2 pulseaudio-15.0-1 pulseaudio-alsa-1:1.2.5-2 pulseaudio-equalizer-ladspa-3.0.2-4
Total Removed Size: 9.09 MiB
:: Do you want to remove these packages? [Y/n]
that's all (firefox is not a dependency for me)
so, in short, FF92 is now working.
great, set it as solved
