Ethernet stopped working after enabeling network manager

After installing Arch, Installed gnome. In order to be able to use wifi, I installed and enabled NetworkManager. Wifi works now, but ethernet would only work for a couple of seconds after pluging in the cable and then was stuck loading. I tried setting up ifplugd, but the problem persisted.

Do you have any idea, what could cause this?

Re: Ethernet stopped working after enabeling network manager

Since it "stopped working" what did you use to handle your ethernet before using networkmanager? networkmanager is a general interface manager and chances are you now have a conflict with networkmanager and whatever you used beforehand trying to handle the same ethernet interface. Disable whatever you used before so that networkmanager can also handle ethernet, or configure networkmanager to ignore the ethernet interface.

Following these steps https://linuxhint.com/use_network_manager_arch_linux/ and then disabeling ifplugd service, as you advised seems to have solved the issue. Thanks!
