Hi !!
This is second issue I saw with my every installation prior (Yeah !! I installed Davinci Resolve more than honestly 10 times thinking it was just temp issue)
I followed through Arch Wiki DaVinci Installation where it noted "Application Window Missing"
I did exactly what it said to do
I created a file with name DaVinci_Resolve_main_window_always_with_titlebar_and_frame.kwinrule
with content of
[DaVinci Resolve main window always with titlebar and frame]
Description=DaVinci Resolve main window always with titlebar and frame
clientmachinematch=0
noborder=false
noborderrule=2
titlematch=0
types=1
wmclass=davinci-resolve
wmclasscomplete=false
wmclassmatch=1
WIth out the title bar I am unable to open up important option (File Edit Workspaces Fairlight Fusion Playback) Et cetera
Small help would be appreciated
Hope this small issue would be resolved.
If you want to take a look into additional logs and bunch of info
I suggest you my previous forum : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 5#p1999815
I have given all the info you might need there
Have a great day

Did you import the file as stated?

Did you import the file as stated?
You mean going to System Settings > Window Management > Window Rules and import this file.
Yes I did the same
$ vim Documents/DaVinci_Resolve_main_window_always_with_titlebar_and_frame.kwinrule
[DaVinci Resolve main window always with titlebar and frame]
Description=DaVinci Resolve main window always with titlebar and frame
clientmachinematch=0
noborder=false
noborderrule=2
titlematch=0
types=1
wmclass=davinci-resolve
wmclasscomplete=false
wmclassmatch=1
You mean I was supposed to import this to the windows rule after going to System Settings > Window Management > Window Rules.
I guess that's what I did more than 5 times to check if I did it wrong
Have a great day V1del

Unfortunately,
noborderrule=2
shan't work on KDE Plasma 6 (and some later versions of Plasma 5) and upward in a lot of scenarios, and not whatsoever on Wayland, unless https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=452240#c0 is reopened - currently, it's marked as RESOLVED INTENTIONAL. You might find some useful discussion about this at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php?title=Talk%3ADaVinci_Resolve&oldid=806167#c-RokeJulianLockhart-20240416163900-noborderrule=2_doesn't_work_on_Wayland.
I hope that this helps.
