[Solved] Gnome not launch, whether after upgrade and reinstall

I upgraded gnome to 41 version and couldn't launch it (I always and prefer use "tbsm" or terminal base session manager). Then, I remove all possible-related to gnome package, one by one. I'm curious again, then I reinstall gnome with command "sudo pacman -Syu gnome", then launch it with tbsm and lightdm, gnome didn't launch again. I usually use the wayland session one, but whether wayland or xorg not launch. I have optimus laptop , dual GPU (Intel as main and nvidia GT 520, I rarely use the nvidia one . I have some logs, perhaps it will help.

Log and info :
GNOME session : https://pastebin.com/GMFEjyvQ
GNOME shell : https://pastebin.com/LiJcWrem
Journalctl -xe : https://pastebin.com/f29vZN1q
Xorg log : https://pastebin.com/VuKtupA6
Lightdm log : https://pastebin.com/mSeUcGEC

Thanks.

Re: [Solved] Gnome not launch, whether after upgrade and reinstall

sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'f:1=<-' ix.io

if you failed to start gnome during this boot (otherwise "… -b -1" for the previous boot etc.)
The lightdm log suggests that gnome actually ran for ~11 seconds. Please elaborate on "not launch" - are you thrown back toe the DM or do you just end up w/ a black screen?

I was thrown back to the DM, but before that, I faced "Something has gone wrong" warning.

Is there something to do with intel stuffs or there something else? I dont know much about xorg because I've moved to wayland.

Re: [Solved] Gnome not launch, whether after upgrade and reinstall

Update : desktop could be launched (via slim dm and I chose GNOME classic, the other GNOME session didn't work),  but it's blank with cyan color background and just a cursor. I had initiative to launch xterm via TTY2, I checked with neofetch and it told me that I just have mutter wm only and not gnome desktop.

Gnome shell crashes over and over and over again w/ the exact same backtrace.
Since it's trying to read some setting, this is probbly triggered by your users configuration (often 3rd party extensions) so I'd try to move away the extensions, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/GNOME/ … _the_shell and if that doesn't help, the entire gnome configuration (or try with a new user first to confirm that this is related to some entry in your $HOME)

Re: [Solved] Gnome not launch, whether after upgrade and reinstall

Wow, thanks for the enlightenment,  I also tried with my other user (I call it "test " user) and ended up with same result, yeah I am suspicious about extensions too. I forget to mention that I renamed my .config and .local folder,  just to test if those two folders are the cause, but it's still same (can't launch GNOME). I'll mark it as solved.

Yeah,  finally, I need to remove GNOME desktop schemas package, the AUR one is messed up apparently. Thanks. I can enjoy GNOME 41.
