Unable to make NetworkManager-openvpn work with 2FA

Anybody know if NetworkManager-openvpn can connect to servers with 2FA enabled
I tried the nmcli and plasma-nm, and neither of them prompt for the 2FA Token
Using openvpn directly prompts for the token and connects correctly.

Did you save the (not-2FA) password? Otherwise NetworkManager-openvpn should ask for two passwords.

It should work, but the 2FA handling seems to be suboptimal.

I tried both ways with saved password and without,
Without the saved password it only asks for the password and with the saved password it doesn't ask for anything.
