I had some troubles with accessing smb shares recently due to a bug ( https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=275291 )
I resolved it temporarily by rolling back:
-> samba: ignoring package upgrade (4.15.6-1 => 4.16.0-5)
-> smbclient: ignoring package upgrade (4.15.6-1 => 4.16.0-5)
This worked for a time.
Now - when trying to connect to a share - Nemo states "Access Denied", without any changes on the (Synology) NAS.
gvfsd[5611]: /usr/lib/gvfsd-smb: error while loading shared libraries: libicui18n.so.70: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
So after checking it seems that libicui18n.so.70 is indeed not there anymore, only 71 and 71.1.
Thx for any pointers how to resolve this issue.

Either rebuild the old smbclient version manually or actually do the update, as far as the original reports go there are mixed information, it should apparently be fixed with a newer gvfs-smb version for some people.

Alright, it was as easy as doing the update. As I read it did not generally resolve the issue for everybody (as you stated), so I didnt wanna go there at first.
Thx
