My display goes up to 2560x1600 but that is a big issue in games bec 2560x1600 is too high for most games and i can't lower it
this issue occurs on all X11 system and plasma wayland but gnome wayland is normal

i can't lower it
Learn how to do it…
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57855
Start by "xrandr -q" (on X11)
on all X11 system and plasma wayland but gnome wayland is normal
"normal" how?
Offline
i honestly didn't know if it was a kernel issue or a wm issue bec i had the same issue on my display's refresh rate so i had to downgrade to the LTS kernel but the LTS kernel and the main kernel act similarly as in i can't change my resolution and by
on all X11 system and plasma wayland but gnome wayland is normal
i meant that i could lower the display's resolution on gnome wayland only
xrandr -q:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xrandr … esolutions but there's no guarantee that the output is going to accept other resolutions.
Also check
cat /sys/class/drm/card0-eDP1/edid | edid-decode
(the path could differ slightly, edid-decode is at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/edid-decode-git )
What you can likely always do is to scale the output.
xrandr --output eDP1 --scale 0.5x0.5
Offline
there is no edid in /sys/class/drm/card0
ls /sys/class/drm/card0
dev device power subsystem uevent

There's indeed only that one resolution announced.
This is a hybrid system?
lspci and your xorg log, please - are you facing the same situation when running on the other GPU?
Offline
In fact this is a prime system (nvidia and intel) the issue persists when running on nvidia graphics only

The intel chip is indeed card1
[ 6.078] (EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib/dri/i965_dri.so failed (/usr/lib/dri/i965_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)
[ 6.078] (EE) AIGLX error: unable to load driver i965
[ 6.135] (II) IGLX: Loaded and initialized swrast
[ 6.135] (II) GLX: Initialized DRISWRAST GL provider for screen 0
Remove xf86-video-intel - I doubt that this will allow you to pick other resolutions, but you'll get better gaming (and scaling) performance on the intel chip when not using software GL…

Thanks very much that fixed it
