Select applications view the computer as possessing a network, the only non default programs on the computer are firefox, chromium, steam, yay, and minecraft-launcher and respective dependencies, the computer is using Network Manager and Awesome DE and an up to date ISO file(2022.06.01). Network manager is the only current networking program and using nm-connection-editor the only network is enp34s0 in IP link with a default priority of -999 for some reason, changing the priority yielded no results. Aditionally the nm-connection-editor will say it last connected to the Ethernet port at the last time the system was turned on. Steam store, downloading steam games and downloading files through the terminal work as expected but all other applications such as games, steam friends network, and certain websites act as if there were no connection. Under Network configuration/Ethernet the arch wiki has a specific mention of the Ethernet controller but blacklisting module r8169 and installing module r8168 provided no results and disabling IPv6 only messed up networking entirely. I have tried an install using the manual configuration option in the guided installer but the computer didn't recognize Ethernet at all and no functions including downloading from terminal had worked.
Current instillation is fresh and prior mentioned changes to network or kernel were in previous instillations.
Ethernet controller:
[soap@home-pc ~]$ lspci -v | grep Ethernet
22:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 15)
IP Link results:
[soap@home-pc ~]$ ip link

I have had a long previous arch instillation on this computer that had completely working Ethernet using network manager but it was from the old less user friendly guided installer from about a year ago and my own stupidity semi recently led me to consider a fresh install the lesser of two evils.
I could also attempt to build arch myself again but it is an annoying time investment I would prefer to avoid if possible given there is no guarantee I will make the network any better than the installer.
I just wish for a working Ethernet I don't care if the solution is to fix Network Manager or to try something new.

Your problem is not the ethernet connection, your ip l shows it to be there and up and "certain websites" isn't useful information.

Network and DNS are fine, you're not using resolved and you cannot ping urls.
The login.live.com host doesn't respond to ICMP requests, try
wget -O /dev/stdout login.live.com | less

You didn't have to post that (therefore less, the pager copy is capped anyway) but the dowload of the url clearly works - can you open login.live.com in your browser and is your problem actually exclusively the minecraft login?
btw, the other post contains useless, but private data in the "ping login.live.com/oauth20_authorize.srf" block, you should edit that post and remove the part.

Either way it just ends up a white screen that doesn't load, I should have specified that the login I was trying to ping was directly in the mojang website but attempting it through the game also doesn't work

Do you have javascript disabled in the browser or some noscript etc. extension?
Does it work in the por… private browsing mode or a different browser (which one do you use?)
Offline
No extensions on firefox, haven't changed anything, never even did the setup tab that it starts you on when you install it

Try chromium and check the page source code (ctrl+u) to see whether it's maybe a rendering error.
You should also alter the subject of the thread (edit your initial post) to reflect that it's a login.live.com issue (afaiu right now)

ctrl + u just gives me the massive text I tried to copy from terminal earlier but now on one line that you have to keep scrolling through
I don't think this problem is exclusive to login.live as no games in my steam library think there is internet either, hell the nm-connection-editor doesn't even think its connected and has a bunch of warnings in terminal

Apex Legends: game boots and gets player & store data but online matches face unplayable packet loss
BTD 6: cant download game data on start
Deep rock galactic: playable offline, all online features are disabled
GTFO: can't connect to servers
Risk of Rain 2: playable offline, player server browser empty
Terraria mod loader: unable to download mods in game
Stellaris: launcher cannot update due to no connection
TF2: works as intended??
These are games that I've tested before, I can try more but no games are downloaded and that will take a while

Means the webpage loads (not sure about FF, but in chromium you can certainly fold the text) - try a different browser.
The nm-connection-editor are all a11y stuff, if you don't need that, you can "export NO_AT_BRIDGE=1" to silence that.
the nm-connection-editor doesn't even think its connected

The steam situation might be wholly unrelated to the login.live.com one.

Are there local or remote firewalls (pihole)?
How did you install steam? Repo, some custom AUR build or a flatschpack?

I installed steam through pacman

What about the WAN? Are you at home or is this a semi-public space (office, educational, starbucks…) where steam traffic is gonna be blocked for sure?
I can't find an IP for steam servers to test the connection, so at this point you might want to wireshark the steam traffic.
Offline
Home, there was some Disney circle service built into the router but that has been disabled to quite some time to my knowledge and it only redirected you from blocked websites

Also really alter the subject, idk what's wrong w/ your browser wrt login.ive.come, but your network is working fine.
