WLAN not recognized (D-Link G122)

Hi,
I'm having a problem connecting my D-Link G122 (C1) with my Windows XP (SP2) Laptop through a Wirless Connection.
It seems that the D-Link USB-Adapter works fine, the PowerON LED blinks when I enable wlan0 and the Data LED blinks when I make a scan.I instlled it according to the Instructions given in the Wiki and did some other Web searches, so I guess it should be fine in terms of "hardware".My PC is connected to the Internet through a normal router and since I want my Arch Box to be sth like a wireless router, meaning that all wirless devices connect to this PC and then are given Internet access I set the D-Link to "master".
Unfortunatelly my Laptop can't recognize my Lan.
I'm not sure what data to provide to help but I will provide you with anything you want.

Thank you in advance.

Here some output:

my ifconfig output

wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:17:9A:B1:66:6A
          inet addr:192.168.1.88 Mask:255.255.255.0

          RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:1152 (1.1 Kb)

          RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
          Base address:0xe000

And here my iwconfig output:
(I just noticed the mode here is "managed" guess it was reseted when I plug in the device, but normaly it's set to master (also tried Ad-Hoc))

wmaster0 IEEE 802.11g Frequency:2.412 GHz
          RTS thr:off Fragment thr=2346 B

wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:""
          Mode:Managed Frequency:2.412 GHz Access Point: Not-Associated
          RTS thr:off Fragment thr=2346 B
          Encryption key:off

after pluggin in the device dmesg gives:

usb 5-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 6
usb 5-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
wmaster0: Selected rate control algorithm 'simple'

I'm not quite sure but if the HWaddr looks like this it means that the device has not been successfully loaded. I guess theres something wrong with the modules. There HWaddr should look like the one of wlan0.

Besides the iwconfig output is kinda strange if I am right. :

Re: WLAN not recognized (D-Link G122)

Thanks for your reply. I'm unsure myself about my HWaddr  but searching around a bit I came across this Thread and it seems he has a similar HWaddr
