[SOLVED] external keyboard not working during boot -> luks password

Hi all, maybe someone can help me with this little problem. During boot, I am prompted to introduce a password to decrypt my root partition. Problem is that the external keyboard I have connected to my laptop (via USB) does not work at all. The keyboard is a cherry model. However, a very very old SUN keyboard works without problems and is recognized during boot ... any ideas how to solve this ?

Update: SOLVED after reading https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=243254 Solution was to move keyboard right before autodetect in the /etc/mkinitcpio.conf file (HOOKS field) and rebuild the image files with mkinitcpio -p.
