[SOLVED] Archlinux won't boot after an update

Hi

this morning I updated my system by doing `sudo pacman -Syu` and everything went smoothly
but after a reboot the system does not boot:
initially I was prompted with the usual messages:
  Booting 'Arch Linux'
  Loading Linux linux ...
  Loading initial ramdisk ...

But right after it hangs on a dark screen with a single, not blinking cursor on top-left, and I'm not allowed to input anything.
Basically I'm stuck on the screen that usually appear right before the GDM starts.

Any suggestion on how to solve, or how to start investigation? Meanwhile I'm downloading the arch live to chroot into the system

Any help would be appreciated, thx

Possibly related?
Can you switch to a different tty (Alt+F2/3/4)? If so, then please follow:

@dogknowsnx, it is not related to the one you pointed me, but to https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/76368

I did solve it by disabling wayland in the gdm configuration.
