Can not connect to PPTP VPN

After searching for a few days now I have ran out of ideas. I am unable to connect to a PPTP VPN for my university.

I have made sure that my credentials are correct, and tried multiple solutions and verified that the files

 /etc/ppp/options.pptp 

and

 /etc/ppp/options 

are correctly configured. Any help is appreciated!
