Virtualbox starting vm stuck at 20%

Hey! Newb here.

I followed the instructions on the arch wiki, and can confirm that I have installed the correct host modules and updated my system.

However, when launching a Windows 10 VM, it seems to be stuck at 20%.

I installed VirtualBox today and am encountering precisely the same problem, though with an Ubuntu rather than Windows VM. Unfortunately, this suggestion does not seem to work for me — it still gets stuck at 20%.

(What’s really annoying about this issue is that I can’t find a nice way to abort the VM once it’s started powering up, and end up with a defunct and apparently unkillable ‘VBoxSVC’ process which stops me from shutting down my machine properly…)

Hey! This suggestion doesn't work for me too. Asking on the Virtualbox subreddit leads to someone telling me to install the "official" virtualbox package.

Hello

I experience the same : Windows 10 VM start stucked at 20%, with kernel 6.1.12-1-lts

The solution ibt=off in grub parameters works for me

Same happened to me running Intel 13th gen. Kernel 6.2.7-zen1-1-zen. ibt=off fixed it.
