Unusual network behavior

I have had my computer set to not start NetworkManager upon boot for quite some time. And while that remains true, recently I've noticed that the network interface "lo" seem to automatically activate now when I turn NetworkManager on. I don't know why it's started doing this, and it kind of concerns me because I'm not super adept to any of this. Does anyone know why it would be doing this, and how to stop it? Or is it normal, and I shouldn't worry?

Re: Unusual network behavior

It's normal and was recently added to networkmanager to facilitate creation of virtual network interfaces reliant on a managed lo device, you could setup a NetworkManager configlet to not manage the lo interface to restore previous behaviour: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Networ … ic_devices
