Error using remmina

I have used remmina now for several months without problems.
Using remmina now gives me the output below.
a search on the internet tells me that this also happened in nov 2022 and that it was solved.
My system is up to date.

** Message: 00:06:38.539: Remmina does not log all output statements. Turn on more verbose output by using "G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all" as an environment variable.

Re: Error using remmina

Sounds like it's just telling you that a bunch of optional features are not available, ie. you've neither kwallet, nor gnome-keyring installed (password managers) nor https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x8 … t2gtk-4.1/
All are optional dependencies.

Re: Error using remmina

I installed webkit2gtk, no difference.
I don't use kwallet or gnome-keyring, so if they are optional it is not the cause of the problem.
I log in using using a website, (2 factored identification) then I download a rdp file.
Using this file remmina normally makes a connection and I can go to work.
But now it simply shows a black screen.
Using a windows PC there are no problems.

Aha, so there's an actual problem.

It's not likely related to that output however.

Turn on more verbose output by using "G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all" as an environment variable.

Also be more elaborative about the actual problem (How black, is the UI affected as well?) and the environmet (desktop environment, x11 or wayland, your GPU, drivers …)

Re: Error using remmina

I set the variable G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all
Now I get an error message (pop-up) The file "launch.....rdp" is corrupted, unreadable, or could not be found.
Output in xterm session is the same.
The remmina screen appears, it says:  Connectiong to.... but it looks like it is simply waiting for connection, The Remmina screen stays black. My systems works ok.

But xfreerdp has no problems with the same rdp file. xfreerdp started using sudo works.

Starting remmina as root (using sudo) gives more messages:

[hans@myArch Downloads]$ sudo remmina launch284587d7.rdp

Re: Error using remmina

Starting remmina as root (using sudo)

… predictably fails because you lack a session bus

(org.remmina.Remmina:32986): libayatana-appindicator-WARNING **: 16:09:21.778: Unable to get the session bus: Error spawning command line “dbus-launch --autolaunch=3690111266a54d1b98700a0a254bad6a --binary-syntax --close-stderr”: Child process exited with code 1

Don't do that - chances are, you might also have created a root owned config file in your $HOME now.

Now I get an error message (pop-up) The file "launch.....rdp" is corrupted, unreadable, or could not be found.

Please don't paraphrase, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57855

And obviously have a look at the file.

Re: Error using remmina

The file looks oke, it is the same as before the problems started.
Only the fields ' gatewayaccesstoken'  and ' signature' are different.
I started to use xfreerdp. That worked without any problems.

After a holiday of several weeks I did yesterday a system upgrade.
Now Remmina works again.
