Display stuck in dim mode

After a recent update I noticed that my display started to go into dim mode before eventually sleeping. Not long after that it would not come out of dim mode at all.

After some basic troubleshooting, I found that this is only on my displayport, but HDMI is still showing at full brightness. Sure seems like a driver issue to me. With that in mind I started to do a downgrade to see if that would fix the issue. As I don't have those packages any longer, I followed the instructions on the wiki to download them from archive.org. Once I had all the packages I needed (i hope), the downgrade failed with a couple different errors.

nb. that you'll have to use nvidia-dkms or downgrade the kernel to the version that the downgraded nvidia module was compiled for.

To be sure: you tested the same monitor on the same system - you just swapped the cable?

This dimming seems to a new option in KDE 5.27.6. It can be turned off  /on in System Settings, Power Mgt, Energy Saving.

Sorry for the improper formatting of my issue, and for completeness, I used different cables on same and different systems.

I ended up doing a reset of my monitor back to factory settings and all is working again. (Dell u3419w) I wondered if something got corrupted by my use of ddccontrol. I set up keyboard shortcuts to use the built in KVM and switch back and forth from my Arch desktop to my Windows Laptop. It's worked perfectly for years now, but I remember reading it's a very volatile interface and a not insignificant chance or bricking the monitor.

Odd that it coincided with an update, but I'm so happy to have it working again. I absolutely adore my monitor and was sure it had taken a dump. Thanks for the responses.
