Yup.  I immediately thought the same thing in response to recent news.  I hope Mr X gets hit with some trademark issues regarding his new logo.

It's not trademarkeable (and that's probably not a word) but he really just used ? (utf-8 u+1d569) - what's certainly brilliant in terms of brand recognition…
Point of this post is that the actual, legit, true, much older X11 logo was more artistic and is made up from two segments.
(This already came up on the xorg mailing list)
