Hi,
I'm having a troublesome problem with my printer: I cannot share it over the network via cups so a windows (xp) machine can use it too.
This is the situation:
-cups daemon is running and works perfectly on localhost:631
-printer works under linux
-sharing the printer like that used to worked with ubuntu (till like 2 weeks ago)
-printer is published and can be found and installed as network printer on windows machine
-generally networking works (samba for example)
Now when I try to print something from windows it doesn't work and Windows tells me "error".
The cups error log isn't much more informative, however the access_log tells me:
192.168.0.27 - - [28/Nov/2006:17:39:48 +0100] "POST /printers/MFP_USB_Port_0 HTTP/1.1" 200 312385 Print-Job client-error-document-format-not-supported
Googling for part of this error message didn't result in anything useful.. it doesn't seem to be seen very often.
Oh, the printer is a Samsung MK-1610 connected via USB port btw.
Does anyone have an idea? :-/

Have you read wiki?

Yes. It worked just like described there under ubuntu as well (the method where windows accesses the cups-service directly). Just that.. it worked. I tried cups from package and selfbuilt so far with no difference.
The connection is there
The pritner is working
... hm.. maybe I'll have to try the samba-method later.

works now, cups was listening on:
/var/run/cups/cups.sock
instead of
192.168.0.*
which works.
