Some time around/before 2023-11-11, I configured my email client to automatically sign (not encrypt) messages with my publicly-discoverable-through-keys.opengpg.org PGP key. Related or not, I have been unable to say anyting to aur-general since then, judging by the archives at https://lists.archlinux.org/hyperkitty/ … linux.org/. I have tried on at least 5 occasions to send a message, 3 of which were attempting to start a new thread. I've also tried starting the new thread without signing the message with my PGP key. My account on lists.archlinux.org is aliu. Any ideas?

Have you attempted to send unsigned messages?
Did you receive any bonces (check your spam folder)?
Have you tried a different mail client (web client, if such service)?
Offline
Yes, no, yes.

So coincidental?
Sending mails elsewhere from that account still works?
Can you still https://lists.archlinux.org/accounts/lo … 2Flists%2F ?
Your MSP might take a week before informing you about delivery failures (eg. if you typo'd the recipient)

Sending from elsewhere doesn’t seem to work. And I tried sending a (signed) reply to the list on 11-12; it did not work and I have yet to see a bounce.
I’m not sure what you mean by “Can you still” followed by a list of mailing lists I have participated in before.
I haven’t tried to post to mailing lists other than aur-general after configuring signing yet either.

The link should off you to sign in?
The question isn't necessarily about other mailing lists, can you eg. use the mail account to mail yourself at a different mail address you control?
If you're positive that the issue isn't the sender you can contact the list about your account, https://lists.archlinux.org/postorius/l … linux.org/ has an email address.

I've already signed in, so I didn't need to sign in again. My email address works (I later mailed the reply to the person's account instead of the mailing list and they replied).
Thanks, I will consult that address.

Did you approch that address w/ the same sender that's currently failing to post to the ML?
Is it self-hosted? Can you approach them eg. from a gmail account?
Offline
My sender is gmail. Are you sure using another email address which isn't subscribed to the list won't just make it bounce?

I'd certainly not expect a public MSP mail to get silently dropped.
There're btw. only some requests by aliu in the aur-requests list, but no message in aur-general at all?
Have you *ever* been able to send messages there?
Offline
Um, yes? I distinctively remember https://lists.archlinux.org/hyperkitty/ … INFR5PIPR/
For a new thread, there was https://lists.archlinux.org/hyperkitty/ … BMF52PPEAI. It's weird how it doesn't show up under the "posted" tab.

It's b/c I searched for "aliu", but that's not the actual identity in the list.
I've just send a mail to the list that I expec… and it got bounced. "The message is not from a list member"
You've not mentioned whether you can use your sender to send mails to anyone else?
Offline
nope

Meaning you've not mentioned (that was rethorical), you've not tried or you can't?
Cause the latter would make clear that this isn't actually related to the ML.

I thought you were asking if there were any bounces again, for which the answer is still no. I don't get what you mean by whether I'm mentioned.

I want to ensure that you've successfully used your gmail account to send mails at all. Not wrt the aur mailing list or any mailing list, but to send a mail to your mom [rimshot] or any other mail account you can inquire the receive status for.

My email address works (I later mailed the reply to the person's account instead of the mailing list and they replied).

Fuck…
Did you try to contact the owner from a different sender?
(If your mail is in some spam list, you'll otherwise not get through)
Offline
Resolved now after contacting owners with my Chinese alternate address

Did the comment on why the mails where silently blocked?
(might be interesting if anybody else runs into the same symptoms)

All Jelle said was "Interestingly enough you have bounced emails from aur-general so your emails where silently discarded."
