Hello,
On my Arch Linux install, I am getting a lag spike every second or so. I am dualbooting with Windows 11, and I haven't used Arch in a while. When I performed a system update with pacman -Syu, that is when the system broke.
I tried to reboot the system, and my friend with very good Arch experience tried to help me, but no luck.
For some odd reason, my GPU doesn't work with proprietary drivers (Nvidia), so I am currently using the open source drivers (nvidia-open).
Are there any other drivers or anything else I can do to fix the issue?
Specs:
- Intel Core I5-9400
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650
- ASUS Prime H310-E
Thanks.

3rd link below. Mandatory.
Disable it (it's NOT the BIOS setting!) and reboot windows and linux twice for voodo reasons.
Please post your complete system journal for the boot:
sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.stOffline
Okay, I'll go try disabling windows fast start (what you told me), I'll post the system logs here once I'm done.
Update 1: Here are the system logs before disabling the fast start: https://0x0.st/H7Ni.txt

Okay, I did what you told me to do, rebooted my PC with Windows and Linux, and the issue still happens.
Here are my journal logs from my current boot: https://0x0.st/H7NN.txt

The nvidia module loads fine, please post your Xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General and enable https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA … de_setting - use the "nvidia_drm.modeset=1" kernel parameter (modprobe.conf won't do!)
From recent accounts you may try your luck w/ either either an explicit nvidia_drm.fbdev=1 or nvidia_drm.fbdev=0
When you say "lag spike", are you talking about graphics or network?
In case of the latter
Mar 03 14:53:38 cerial kernel: r8169 0000:03:00.0 eth0: RTL8168h/8111h, d4:5d:64:53:ca:34, XID 541, IRQ 127https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/r8168/
But there's no indication for problems w/ either (except the missing KMS support and you might actually end up running X11 on the simpledrm device)
