Please edit your title to ask an actual question or describe the problem you are having. While you're at it, edit your post to include a clear description and logs from when such a problem happens.
EDIT: thanks - this title is good and the post a reasonable start to the thread.

Of course, if your only real question is whether there are any stream experts on the forums, I'll just go ahead and answer "Yes", and you can mark your thread as solved. Otherwise don't expect people to submit resumes and apply for the privilege to try to help you: ask your actual questions first, then whomever can will try to answer.
Sorry. Ok I gave it my best shot. How is it?

Having a similar issue, reported in the DE forum before finding this thread. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=293560
All games using Proton seem to be affected. Cursor works as expected in normal mouse mode when in menus and such, problems begin when a game tries to capture the cursor for mouse look. In my case, the view just wiggles around slightly, staying mostly locked in position.

One could also just install one from the repos instead of a binary release of some mega drive of potentially questionable origin.
FWIW I tested a few things (Wolfenstein and Doom) and had no issues, sometimes wine has trouble with high dpi mice or so, is that the case here?

oh so lot of people are affected? damn
Can you try to run your game with pure wine? You may download a binary release from here:
it's not a problem of wine but that of plasma as everything is working fine in gnome

Is it only in killing floor or where else can you reproduce this? As mentioned by deviantsnart it started to work for him, there was a bug that got fixed in plasma 6.0.1 for capturing the cursor did you update and reboot in between?

I see symptoms similar to this playing Cyberpunk 2077 with Steam/proton since updating to plasma 6 yesterday - the mouse cursor sits in the middle of the screen and barely moves when the mouse is moved. I find that running it under gamescope: https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/gamescope/ seems to fix it.
In Steam, my launch command is:
gamescope -W 3440 -H 1440 -r 144 -s 1.5 --force-grab-cursor --adaptive-sync -f -- %command%
(-W, -H, -r are based on my monitor).

also having this issue on plasma 6, hopefully there's a fix soon. I've seen a few people reporting this on kde's bugtracker

just updated my system including a new kernel and a couple of lib32 packages and restarted it now. my mouse seems to be fine in games so far, will update here if it breaks again
EDIT: yep, restarted my game again and everything is working absolutely fine!
(I was having the mouse issue with space engineers, additionally i'm using proton-ge, I tried that and regular proton and both were broken as of yesterday but now seems to be fine)
great job to whoever got the fix out as quickly as they did

This is still happening with latest updates on this AMD FX8300 RX580 PC. Plasma 6 Wayland latest updates as of 3/10/24. (Steam + various proton versions including GE.)
In my case, Xcom War of the Chosen. The Strategic layer works okay until you use the world map. In the basescreens, the mouse does what it is supposed to. On the Tactical layer, the mouse seems alright until you adjust the camera angle/height, and then it warps at odd angles, and then sometimes moves in the opposite direction from the actual mouse move. This happens consistently.
No issues under X11 at all.

kde 6 + wayland, after last update have same troubles

There's something we are missing here... Do any of you with the issue use fractional scaling, and if so, what do you have handling of xwayland clients set to? Does toggling either of these things have an effect?

All 100% scale here, X11 apps set to "apply scaling themselves". Same behavior (can't look around) when set to "scaled by the system".

Yeah, this seems to be a Wayland and KWin thing. For me, logging on with X11 allows for mouse movement again. I've only tried 1 game that uses Proton—I'm about to fire up a native game...
