Recently I had problems getting the microphone from the headset to work on this notebook.
The codec output shows:
cat /proc/asound/card*/codec* | grep Codec
Codec: Realtek ALC295
Codec: Intel Tigerlake HDMI
Codec: Nvidia GPU a0 HDMI/DP
And looking up the solution for the above results I found this thread: External headphone mic not recognized.
Which gave me some ideas, but the example showed by V1del didn't worked for me at first:
options snd-hda-intel model=auto,dell-headset-multi
I had to remove the auto to it to work.
options snd-hda-intel model=dell-headset-multi
Which makes me wonder, does it is really necessary? If I don't use it there will be no sound through HDMI? Why it doesn't work for me when I add the auto keyword?

Same here, my mic of headset/headphone not are working, i fix that, just put:
options snd-hda-intel model=alc295-acer,dell-headset-multi
in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, reboot, and select headset on microphone settings and will works
-- Edit:
Check if you have the pipewire-pulse installed and remove, as rm -rf $HOME/.config/pulse too
