Installed Arch again, had networking eventually in the live usb (it was already being intermittent when it worked and when it didn't), but after booting into linux and using iwctl to connect to the internet, there's no internet. I've already used both a mobile hotspot and a modem (mobile hotspot reported a connection, but internet still didn't work), and I have created main.conf to let iwd enable network configuration. Running on arch 6.7.9, AMD, network adapter is the Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe wireless network adapter. I don't have any ethernet ports so I'm stuck either manually installing things or using the live usb.

iwctl will connect you but not give you internet by default: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Iwd#En … figuration

I have made the configuration file though, and set networkconfiguration to true (I'll check later if I put it in the right place but it should be!)

And set up DNS?

Potentially not. IWD automatically assigns systemd by default and it looks like it should be set up too automatically. I used archinstall for this particular install and I may have skipped over the network part. (I'll also check that systemd resolved is enabled when I get the chance, as it's probably not. Would also explain why domain names arent resolving but I have a connection. In fact I'm almost betting that's what's causing all my issues.)

Finally works!! Now I have to figure out how to start services on boot, if anybody quickly knows how to do that I'd really appreciate it. Otherwise this is now solved.
Edit: figured it out.
