Slow internet speed

My internet speed is 300 Mbps, although in the gnome settings it says 100 Mbps is connected and the download speed in Steam beats at 100 and on the speed test too. Although, just not so long ago, everything was normal. sudo ethtool -s enp4s0 speed 300 - if you set it to 300 with this command, then the net crashes altogether.

What does ethtool actually report about the nic?
Does your journal/dmesg indicate a downshift?
Did you try a better cable?
