kdenlive crashing

Just yesterday after an update, kdenlive won't start and crashes so I get the error message in a dialog box that
" kdenlive crashed for last startup do you want to reset the configuration files? "

if i click continue i get this:

Mine starts, but if I open an already started project it crashes. I've downgraded to a previous version for the moment.

Hi all,

I'm not running Arch but Devuan, and ran in the same segfault.

I found the fix here : https://www.mail-archive.com/debian-bug … 15500.html

Installing qml6-module-org-kde-desktop package fixed the segfault.

Been able to open a 9 years old project !

Experiencing the same issue on up-to-date arch with no out-of-tree packages. My log is the same as the first guy's except I have sox and movit installed so it finds those plugins.
When I attatch GDB I get:

I know kdenlive at least worked in January of this year because I tested it out after I first installed Arch.
I was alerted to this issue by a You-Tuber who goes by "Linux Renaissance" who had the same issue on his Arch install. When I checked mine, it was having the same issue. He blamed Arch shipping SDL3 while kdenlive requires SDL2 but I have not been able to verify that myself.

I was able to fix my issue by setting the KDE QtQuick renderer from Vulkan to OpenGL in

kcmshell6 kcm_qtquicksettings

The KDE Vulkan renderer also caused an issue with KWin (see https://discuss.kde.org/t/kwin-effects- … g/32135/12)
It looks like the KDE Vulkan renderer is quite unfinished.
