I reinstalled Arch in January this year, only to notice that the audio was broken.
My packages are pipewire-alsa, pipewire-audio pipewire-jack and pipewire-pulse
Pipewire isn't giving me issues.

Some other people had issues due to using the LTS Kernel, however, I'm on the latest 6.8.4. Another thing is, it's very temperamental. Every now and then, if I reinstall my audio, it will work. It's not completely broken, I'm just not sure how to get it to work consistently.
I'd really appreciate some assistance. Thanks for your time.

I have this exact laptop. The speakers seem to be working fine, though some issues keep me on wireplumber 0.4.17 instead of 0.5+ for the moment.

My BIOS version is 1.24.0. That could be the issue.
Thanks for the tip.
Offline
According to the Dell website, 1.24.0 is the newest BIOS version. Are you sure we have the same model?
Offline
Indeed.
Strangely, Dell doesn't publish newer bios versions on their website, but they do in the LVFS [1]. I'm not sure why this is, but perhaps it's because the precision 5520 is essentially the same machine so they actually share a firmware image, but the precision model had a longer support lifetime? Anyway this "extended support" also appears to have ended, so I suspect 1.31.0 is the final bios version available for the XPS 15 9560.
That said, I think the firmware would be a more likely guess if you were running some ancient/never updated version. I definitely have had 1.24.0 installed before and don't recall any such issue. I did at one point have [2], but I don't think it is related.
I'm a little curious why your DSP detected line repeats so much. I don't think that's expected — it is printed when the module is probing for devices. I wonder can you modprobe -r / modprobe snd_hda_intel to poke it when it isn't working?

That is pretty odd. Here's another question. Should I have pipewire-session-manager installed? I've heard that it's either pipewire-session-manager or wireplumber from the wiki, but it's a dependency for my dotfiles and it depends on wireplumber. I'm not quite sure.
❯ modprobe -r / modprobe snd_hda_intel
modprobe: FATAL: Module / not found.
I looked at your [2] post and noticed a difference in installed packages. I'm going to check that out.
EDIT: I checked my BIOS and Fast Boot was enabled. I disabled it. The sound currently works. There have been times where my audio has temporarily worked, so it might just be a coincidence. I'll see if it lasts.

I mean modprobe -r followed by modprobe, presumably this would force it to re-probe.
pipewire-session-manager has been deprecated. It was replaced by wireplumber. You don't need it.
Offline
I'll see if this works as a workaround.
modprobe -r snd_hda_intel
and then
modprobe snd_hda_intel
Offline
If this is dual boot and you had fastboot enabled that could definitely cause this. You probably found the cause.

It's not a dualboot. That and also:

Looking at wireplumber when the underlying kernel sound device has issues will not really help.
I see snd_soc_avs in your excerpt, which is on record for causing issues since 6.7 because it presumably handles VIDs/PIDs for cards it doesn't really support yet. Quick and immediate fix is to blacklist snd_soc_avs. Proper fix would be reporting the issue to the kernel devs so that it can be adjusted.
If blacklisting it didn't help post
