https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/edid-decode ? It looks like it requires aur, I can't quite guarantee that my current environment will be able to install it because my current internet environment sometimes can't access offshore sites, I'll try it out

Re: [SOLVED]My laptop won't turn on the 240hz screen refresh rate

Please post your Xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General - the relevant edid is ideally inside that as well.
You also on X11 cannot

xrandr --output DP-0 --rate 240

?

Edit: run the while loop I posted before, it'll print the edid's of all available outputs (only one)

Turning on 240hz in an x11 environment does the same thing as encountering it in wayland

Re: [SOLVED]My laptop won't turn on the 240hz screen refresh rate

Display supports continuous frequencies

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Variab … _on_NVIDIA

Ftr, monitor showed up in https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=283229 - apparently working at 240HZ w/ nvidia only but you'ree running on that chip anyway.
Can you disable the AMD chip in the BIOS/UEFI?

Re: [SOLVED]My laptop won't turn on the 240hz screen refresh rate

The AMD GPU is still in the journal, ie the system is running in hybrid mode.
Please post your Xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General and try to disable the IGP/AMD GPU in the BIOS/UEFI.

Re: [SOLVED]My laptop won't turn on the 240hz screen refresh rate

The raphale chip is there and suggests some eDP output, but the panel is connect to the nvidia chip and the 2670.0 MHz maximum pixel clock is more than sufficient for 2560x1440@240

My best guess is to test the various UEFI configs (notably nvidia only, amd only) to see whether this causes any changes and for the current config test the impact of forementioned https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Variab … _on_NVIDIA (specifcally trying to disable that)

These are the only two options in my bios

,I've been using discrete Mode. But now that I've tried hybrid mode, I've found that my refresh rate works fine, but I'm well aware that it's the amd gpu that's outputting the rendered results。If there is no good solution, I think I can continue to use the hybrid mode option, I really appreciate everyone taking time out of their busy schedules to solve my problem, especially seth!

Re: [SOLVED]My laptop won't turn on the 240hz screen refresh rate

The eDP is probably directly wired to the AMD GPU and the load of the internal redirect is too much, maybe because the otherwise unused AMD GPU is powering down.
It's weird enough that it shows up in the "discrete" mode at all.

It's probably better to run the hybrid mode in a regular PRIME setup, but otherwise this can probably only be fixed with a firmware (BIOS/UEFI) udpate.

Yes, I've been using my computer with hybrid mode + envycontrol for a few hours now and I'm sure there's nothing out of the ordinary, thanks again for your help!

Re: [SOLVED]My laptop won't turn on the 240hz screen refresh rate

Excuse me everyone, in today arch pushed me the nvidia 550.78 I upgraded him and I now have a system where everything works fine, and as I suspected it was a problem with Nvidia. But thanks to all of you for your previous answers. The purpose of my reply now is simply to let you know that the problem has been solved. How do I mark this issue as resolved?

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
