Games won't run on dedicated graphics

I am running arch with gnome (wayland) on an acer laptop with a hybrid graphics setup, I am using nvidia-prime for the handling of gpu switching and I use nvidia proprietary drivers. I run my games through port proton. the problem is that port proton and the games running under it are using intel graphics instead of the nvidia ones, I've made sure of this through an overlay which confirmed my suspicions. blender seems to utilize the dedicated graphics but port proton won't, I've tried using prime-run to no avail. what can I do to force port proton to use dedicated graphics

I would post a full output if I had a command to run

Prime and proton are both fully functional, I can see that the dedicated gpu is being utilized when I run blender, the problem is that prime doesn't switch to dedicated when I run games on portproton, prime-run doesn't seem to do any thing either

Start by detailing how you go about to prime-run the game and what your metric for the failure is.
Do you prime-run steam or the game?
What's the steam output.

*Anything* beyond "itsdoesnotsworksbelievemelolz".

This is my first time on these forums there is no need to resort to bullying. I prime-run portproton, also I am not using steam I run portable versions of games (aka pirated)

I just tried running the game in debug mode, from the log output I can surmise that portproton can detect the other GPU and is just not using it for some reason

it turns out I had optimus-manager installed along side nvidia-prime which was screwing with everything, I uninstalled optimus-manager and now games are using my dedicated card, thank you for your help, I genuinely couldn't have figured this out without you
