i am going insane.
this happens on occasion, usually after some weeks of usage. the only solution is to reinstall the system, and i think everyone agrees this is absolutely not an acceptable solution.
i even tried archinstall but surely enough, after some time, it happens again. i log in one day and no audio works.
pulseaudio and alsa (what i've always used) are up to date. i think everything is in place.

i have tried other distros (mint, ubuntu and fedora) and back over on windows xp, 7 and 10 it never did this, this only happens on arch, so definitely my fault. but i don't know what i'm doing wrong

it also isn't i3wm cause awesomewm, bspwm, cinnamon and xfce also failed me. at this point i'm inclined to call it a broken driver and give up.

I had a similar issue on reboot, but only after rebooting from a dual boot windows system. Do you also boot to windows?
