Hi, hope I'm in the right section, but I don't know how to host gitlab under a relative url. I tried the guide provided by gitlab, since there is no guide in the archwiki for gitlab for a source build (the linux package one used gitlab.rb which didn't work too). That didn't work and it still redirected me to the root of my domain. I just want every redirect gitlab creates to be under /gitlab instead of root. I can make a rewrite rule but I think it's inconvenient. If it is the last resort then I will use it.

maybe https://stackoverflow.com/questions/335 … from-nginx helps ?
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

I'm sorry to say i decided to switch to ubuntu since i find hosting on arch is not documented enough. I'll leave this topic open for anyone else wanting to find a solution. And this will work, but as I said I wanted nginx redirects to be the last resort. I'm sure there is a way to setup gitlab with a relative url under arch linux.
Thanks for helping me!

The best answer in that SO thread is considered 'disabling redirects' .
I do think this is a nginx / webserver specific question , but you should use what you feel best about.
Please prepend [Solved] , [Abandoned] , [gave up] or what you feel is apropriate to the thread title.
