installing wlroots (0.18.0-1) breaks dependency 'libwlroots.so=12-64'

Can't update my system because of this error. Not sure if I should remove the scenefx package incase it breaks something.

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/scenefx ?
You'll have to rebuild that against the new wlroots - you can remve and then re-build/install it.

i still get the error after removing the package (yay -R scenefx) and reinstalling it (yay -S scenefx with cleanbuild on all)

We haven't seen teh actual error so it's not even clear whether scenefx  is the stale dependecy.
Also you'd have to remove scenefx, update the system, then re-install scenefx - not just remove and re-install and then update the system, that's pointless.

this is the error i get when trying to update using pacman -Syu:

looking for conflicting packages...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: installing wlroots (0.18.0-1) breaks dependency 'libwlroots.so=12-64' required by scenefx

i'll try removing the package then updating though

This thread really helped me today with very similar issue...  In my case it was wlroots16 required by dwl was preventing Arch updates.   Thank you Seth.
