Unable to run startx as a non root user

whenever i try to initialize an xorg session, startx doesnt work. i gotta write sudo to make it work. i dont know why this is happening. The warnings were same in the log in both cases. So i dont think warnings have anything to do with this.

i've installed this on Virtual Box using archinstall (i had to install quickly)

i dont wanna use any DE or WM. Just wanna keep is "terminal only". Just want the ability to launch GUI apps.

startx doesnt work

Please don't paraphrase, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57855

Your xinitrc and the xorg log will be relevant as will be the actual output you're getting from startx.

i gotta write sudo to make it work

Congratulations, you likely spoiled your $HOME with a bunch of root-owned files that'll get in the way.
