Borked my Linux had to do fresh install.
Booted to new system
systemctl start systemd-networkd.service
systemctl enable systemd-networkd.service
/etc/systemd/network/20-wired.conf
[Match]
Name=enp8s0
[Network]
Address=192.168.1.100/24
Gateway=192.168.1.1
DNS=1.1.1.1
ip link set enp8s0 up
restart systemd-networkd.
systemctl start systemd-resolved.service
systemctl enable systemd-resolved.service
No static IP.
If i reboot - ip link shows my network card is DOWN
If i remove my static ip file - still nothing.
Downloaded iso today few hours ago. So latest greatest vanilla .
Had same issue earlier with older iso - so i thought its something wrong but turns out - no.

20-wired.conf isn't valid AFAIK. Should be 20-wired.network.

Well, i used my template where i had static ip before and i just quickly copy-paste.
I did spent whole day in wiki and internet and tested many things - even re-installing OS so i just did not noted my first mistake

happens to all of us
there was a topic recently where OP named grub config .conf while grub expects .cfg
my bet: back in the day when Linux emerged from Unix the chance just got missed to enforce specific naming for specific files - as in unix a files type is determined by its header rather than its filename extension
