Maybe you should starting compiz from compiz-tray-icon instead of from command line. Perhaps compiz-tray-icon does some magic before starting compiz...
if i start from compiz-tray-icon, compiz don't work, and is the same as it's disabled...

Hi Everyone,
today stumbled upon this:-
[root@Rajiv-Nair rajiv]# pacman -S compiz-core-git compiz-gnome-git compiz-extra-plugins compiz-settings gnome-compiz-manager gnome-compiz-manager-extra
error: compiz-core-git conflicts with compiz-core

hm... it's me messing up again. I don't really know the best way to setup the conflicts and provides of these pkgbuilds. I take it you don't have compiz-core installed. No?

I'm updating all packages in a few minutes. I'll post here when it's done. I have a fix for ATI uses on AIGLX.

All packages updated. See first post for more info. ATI users who are on AIGLX (i.e. ATI users on open source drivers), please test the new packages to see if you still have problems and report here. Thanks.

Make sure you have libgl-dri 6.5.1. 6.5.2 causes issues with both beryl and compiz. Also make sure you don't have packages compiled against different versions of glproto (if you only have official arch packages, you're fine).

I added a link to my first post. Get the 6.5.1 from that link and install it manually by "pacman -U $pkgname", and then you should probably add libgl-dir to your IgnorePkg array in /etc/pacman.conf

it crash, and return to gdm.... :'(

Is is possible to run compiz with the fglrx drivers? I know beryl can't do it, but what about compiz? The reason why I don't want to use the open source drivers is because they can't handle TV-out, and that's more important to me then compiz/beryl.

if you have ati, is not possible, you must use the open driver...

I'd like to know whether anyone with open source ati drivers is using this repo? Otherwise, I'd like to remove the tfp patch.
More generally, is anyone using this repo? I'm wondering whether I should upgrade the git packages or just stop maintaing the repo...
On another note, those who have upgraded to xorg-server-1.1.1-6 do not need to downgrade libgl-dri. The problem is now fixed thanks to JGC.

I'm using it, tho I have a problem with both compiz/beryl which prevents me from using them. I'll post the problem once i boot up my laptop.

I am using this repo and are very happy with it, and an update -git one would be nice, but not nessecary, keeping up the normal package alone would be great
for building there'd be loads of stuff to install and your packages work great

It's not cool, it's actually very annoying. This has something to do with that "No stencil buffer" message I get sometimes. And yes I just tested the new xorg, same problem.
And I agree with remur, do keep the repo please No need for git packages, but regular updates are always welcome. Saves me/us from having to compile it everytime (which is why i left gentoo in the first place).

OK, I'll continue maintaining the packages. I'm gonna poke around to see if I find some patches that might solve the weird problem. In any event, you might want to head over to the compiz forum (http://forum.go-compiz.org/) and see if they can help you there...
