Hello,
I was attempting to install Red5 but having difficulty getting Java to work. It gives this error:
root@frooler [~/red5]# Starting Red5...
/usr/bin/java: line 67: /tmp/javaR26524: Permission denied
/usr/bin/java: line 67: /tmp/javaR26524: Success
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hey RAH,
It sounds like the error might be related to Java’s temporary files not having the right permissions. One quick thing to try is making sure the /tmp directory has the correct permissions set for Java to create and execute files. You can try setting the permissions with a command like chmod 1777 /tmp to see if that helps.
Also, just so you know, Red5 has come a long way, and there’s now a dedicated support space available at Red5 Support Portal. There, you’ll find guides, frequently asked questions, and you can even reach out to Red5 support directly if you need more help.
Good luck, and I hope this gets your Red5 installation running smoothly!

It is incredibly unlikely they are still looking for help with their issue 14 years later.
