Hi everyone!
Broken arch package after an update brought me here. Learned I can do a downgrade using cached pacman/pkg, and I managed to fix the issue I had by interpolating between the different answers in the forum. Wanted to try and see how I can contribute making the arch distro more stable with respect to updates and also learn more about the kernel itself.
I've been using different linux distros since high-school (almost ~12 years since ) , started from ubuntu and debian, went over to arch, tried fedora and had a little excursion with kali, then went back to ubuntu and now after getting a after my PhD I am back to Arch

Hi everyone !
Been using Linux for the last 4 years now (almost 5), started with Ubuntu, then Kubuntu, and recently Arch on a brand-new laptop. Absolutely love using it with KDE.
Pacman and yay are amazing, managing packages on Ubuntu quickly became chaos.

Hi everyone
Old time gentoo user, now going back to linux.
Been playing with arch linux on windows 11 Hyper-V for a few weeks.
This is my first time installing on bare metal now to get full GPU, sound and BT.
Planning to set up wayfire this week
I find the archinstaller a nice time-saving script

Hello world!
A new Archlinux user here! previously daily'd Linuxmint dualbooted with Manjaro, before switching back to windows for ~1.5 years; and have decided to jump back to linux, specifically arch due to the B-Tree file system (love those backups), with the aim to deepen my linux knowledge the and take advantage sheer customisability and productivity improvements it brings, which i always yearned for in windows (breaking it to the core several times in the process).
Currently stuck on figuring out amd+nvidia optimus (no mux switch) with an external monitor connected to NVIDIA graphics. have already managed to get stuck in the bootloader and making use of timeshift backups on live boots (arch, manjaro); thrice to revert back to no nvidia graphics (could have used safe mode... a great learning experience nevertheless).
Yet to look into VM + gpu passtrhough, combining login with de-encryption (LUFS key), revamping networking settings optimizing for anonymity and speed, amongst various other side quests (suggestions are welcome!)
Have learnt a lot through reading through articles, forums, bombarding AI with questions (it's still "useless" for archlinux troubleshooting; humans reign supreme!), linuxjourney.com.
Looking forward to become a better monkey with neo vi improved, Hyprland; and learning, making tons of shortcuts for all commonly used apps!
Such a switch makes re-configuring/switching apps for great productivity boosts (with shortcuts, extensions, mods) and pledges of ridding bad habits easy! no more wasting time(i.e most of the day) on social media/games!
For me, it's been 3 days since the live boot, but it feels much longer than that; like a whole week has passed! Time really does slow down when you engage in novel activities.
Also, the Archlinux community is genuinely awesome!

Question, I got a witness account I been wanting to post about how I got to linux. would it be alright if I made a seperate thread here?
Anyway in short, went from using windows to linux mint debian edition 6 to Arch Linux. It was hard at first. but thanks to the test bed and my "linux mindset" thinking cap, I was able to overcome my own weaknesses with linux and now its on my secondary desktop.
Microsofts been wanting to get into peoples pants lately.
Anyway, hello fellers!

I used linux for long time and ArchWiki always was super helpful.
Eventually installing arch, customizing and configuring things grew on me, I was happy to max my battery life on laptop.

Arch noob here. Started with Knoppix decades ago. Mint KDE->Kubuntu->Manjaro KDE->published an article in Linux journal on using qdbus for creating screen scripts on my dual monitor setup. Feel a need for something more, so here I am.

Hi everyone !
Just installed Arch after testing Mint, Manjaro and Endaevouros the last several years. I'm still pretty un-knowledgeable about Linux as a whole I feel and thus hope I can learn a few things with Arch.
For now PC isn't shutting down as it should and stays powered on, so first learning session is already taking place.

Hello! I'm an arch user since months, but came here because I had my first semi serious issue after installing kernel 6.13.1 yesterday, that I had to revert
