Previously, I used this Brother HL-L2480DW with IPP Everywhere with no problem. I added it through bonjour and it just worked.
Today, I installed cups and avahi again, and followed the usual instructions:
$ lpinfo --include-schemes dnssd -v
network dnssd://Brother%20HL-L2480DW._printer._tcp.local/?uuid=e3248000-80ce-11db-8000-94ddf8100b41
$ lpadmin -p brother -E -v dnssd://Brother%20HL-L2480DW._printer._tcp.local/?uuid=e3248000-80ce-11db-8000-94ddf8100b41
// Ok, previously it was the same
But when I went to CUPS web interface and clicked on this printer, it gave "Not Found" with no further message.
Explicitly turning off systemd-resolved multicast in config and doing everything again had no effect.
Now... while in another room, I heard printer working.
When I returned, I saw a whole ton of paper coming out of the printer with the following contents:
https://0x0.st/8XnO.jpeg
The only way I could stop this stream of waste was shutting down the printer.
Am I doing something wrong?

Update:
Seems like a network problem, since I am getting Unable to locate / Unable to connect / Host is down sort of messages.
I've tried several suggestions from Arch / Mint / Ubuntu forums. with no success, will keep searching.
N.B. Android built-in discovery also doesn't detect the printer, but it had always done in the past. => not a CUPS issue

Next time you need an answer try looking in archwiki .
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Avahi#Using_Avahi
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

How could I forget about the divine Archwiki? I repent, repent!!
P.S. Thank you.
